Twenty years old Godfrey Julious Gacho (he’s using surname Tairo at the school) comes from the Kilimanjaro area. His mother died during the childbirth. At least that’s what his sister who raised him has told him. He has never met his father but his grandpa from his mother side took care of him. Unfortunately, he died soon as well.

Both siblings found themselves on the street. They left for the Moshi city where Godfrey finally has lost his sister (his last relief) too. He spent nine years within the group of homeless children in several Tanzanian cities. He did experience a lot of rough incidents. He got in touch with drugs and he says that will never forget the incident when he almost did drink the rat poison. All his thanks for that he’s alive today goes to the God and many good people.

He was saved from the street by the Maecenas who paid for the adult school fees (Godfrey has never gone to the “classic” basic school). He was given a shelter during his high school studies just thanks to his classmate families and church. He managed to keep on studying by his will-power, he used to starve often. According to Ailsa Bennell he kept on studying restlessly despite the situations in which others would give up.

He is pretty sure about his future – he’d like to become a lawyer, be self-contained and help children in such a need he did experience. According to Ailsa Godfrey is a gentle, clever and deeply believing guy with big dreams. He managed to learn English more despite than thanks to the confused public education and despite all the difficulties he managed to have a good score at school and positive life attitude.
